Maitreya Dadashreeji: Ek Bharat Hum Bharat Movement

EK BHARAT HUM BHARAT

Remembering Who We Are

A call by Maitreya Dadashreeji to rediscover the timeless spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam—and turn that remembrance into conscious action for Bharat.

For thousands of years, Bharat has carried a profound truth: Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam—the world is one family. Yet in a rapidly changing world, where differences can sometimes become divisions, perhaps the greatest need is not to create unity, but to remember the unity that already exists within us.

On 4 December 2024, Prem Avataar Maitreya Dadashreeji gave the call for Ek Bharat Hum Bharat—an invitation to every citizen to remember the true essence of Bharatiya Sanskriti: a culture that has always embraced diversity while recognising the deeper unity that connects us. His message carried a sense of urgency:

“अगर अब एक जुट नहीं हुए, तो बहुत देर हो जाएगी”

If we do not unite now, it may be too late.

The call was not about making Bharat uniform. It was about remembering what unites us. Before our language, region, caste, community or individual identities, there is a shared identity that binds us: We are Bharatiyas. We are one family.

Ek Bharat Hum Bharat was born from this consciousness—not to make everyone the same, but to remind us of what unites us.

From Remembering to Living

Maitreya Dadashreeji’s teaching, “You grow by Giving,” captures the spirit of this journey: personal growth becomes meaningful when it contributes to the well-being of others.

From this vision, Ek Bharat Hum Bharat has grown into a citizen movement carrying the conversation from thought to action. Today, the movement has reached 21+ states, 77+ cities and 321+ villages, conducting 477+ sessions of Cultivating Collective Conscious Growth with youth, educational institutions, corporates, NGOs, government organisations and communities.

But these numbers are more than milestones. Each session represents people coming together to ask important questions: What does Bharat mean to me? What is my responsibility towards society? How can I contribute to the growth and development of my nation?

Taking Consciousness to the Ground

Through Together for Tomorrow and other workshops, the movement has opened conversations around Conscious Citizenship, Youth Leadership, Emotional Wellbeing, Unity in Diversity, Collective Responsibility and Nation Building through Daily Actions. Its initiatives have extended beyond workshops into Shraddhanjali Yatras, unity walks and Padayatras, environmental initiatives, blood donation and anti-hunger drives, social awareness programmes and Emergency Preparedness and Disaster Management sessions across different parts of Bharat.

From Me to We

The deeper purpose of EBHB is a shift in consciousness—from “Me” to “We.” It begins with the individual, extends to the family, reaches society and ultimately embraces the nation. This is the essence of Active Conscious Citizenship—recognising that Bharat’s progress is not the responsibility of a select few. Every citizen has a role.

A student can mentor. A teacher can inspire. A professional can share skills. An entrepreneur can create opportunities. A farmer can strengthen a community. A homemaker can nurture values. A young person can lead. A senior citizen can guide. Every contribution matters.

One Hour for Self. Family. Nation.

This philosophy finds its simplest expression in EBHB’s One Hour Initiative.

One Hour for Self—to learn, grow, reflect and become stronger.

One Hour for Family—to nurture relationships, values and togetherness.

One Hour for Nation—to serve, mentor, teach, protect the environment, support a community or contribute one’s time and skills.

“Jo Bhi Karo, Usme Rashtra Hit Ko Jodo.”

Whatever we do, let us connect it with the larger good of Bharat.

This is how nation-building becomes part of everyday life—not an occasional act, but a conscious way of living.

Maitreya Dadashreeji

A Bharat That Grows Together

The larger aspiration of Ek Bharat Hum Bharat is a Bharat that grows not only in prosperity and capability, but also in consciousness, compassion, responsibility and unity.

“Peace within me, is peace within you. Peace within you, is peace within many. Peace within many, peace within world.”

The journey of Ek Bharat Hum Bharat is therefore both inward and outward. It begins with remembering who we are, and becomes meaningful when that remembrance shapes how we live, serve and contribute.

As Bharat looks towards a future of greater growth and development, the movement carries a simple invitation: Remember. Unite. Contribute.

Do not wait for someone else to build Bharat. Start where you are. Start with what you have. Start with one hour.

Because when one citizen becomes conscious, one family becomes stronger. When families become stronger, communities become stronger. And when millions of citizens contribute with one collective spirit, Bharat rises—not merely as a developed nation, but as a conscious, united and compassionate one.

EK BHARAT. HUM BHARAT.

One Family. One Responsibility. One Collective Future.
